SKUP organizes an annual weekend conference for investigative reporters and editors in Norway.

The SKUP conference has the last years been attended by 500-600 reporters and editors.

The 2007 conference in Tønsberg had an all time high of 654 registered participants. The 2010 attendance was 560.

SKUP has previously introduced names like John Pilger, Gunther Walraff, Robert Fisk, Charles Lewis, Heather Brooke, Walt Bogdanich, Julian Assange, David Leigh and the BBC-team which exposed the model business and the Chelsea supporters.

One of the conference highlights is the SKUP award ceremony. The competition to get the prestigious SKUP prize is extensive. Every year SKUP awards a prize of 50.000 NOK to last year's best investigative story, as well as diplomas to a number of further stories - for excellence in investigative reporting.

SKUP regularly offers workshops and training in various investigative methods. The foundation's website offers documentation on a decade of investigative journalism and projects in Norwegian media.

SKUP is a NGO, and receives no funds from governmental organizations.

Between 2004 and 2010 the conferences has taken place six times in Tønsberg, the oldest Norwegian city. Tønsberg is on the coast south-west of Oslo - only a couple of hours away from the capital.
