David E. Kaplan

Direktør for sekretariatet til the Global Investigatige Journalism Network, en organisasjon med mer enn 80 non-profit organisasjoner verden over som dedikerer sitt arbeid til undersøkende journalistikk. I sine 30 år som journalist har Kaplan rapportert fra mer enn tjue land og reportasjene han har medvirket til er tildelt mer enn tjue priser. Han har vunnet fire IRE-priser, inkludert tre medaljer. Kaplan har også mottatt the Overseas Press Club-award fire ganger. Han sitter i dag i World Economic Forums råd mot organisert kriminalitet.

David E. Kaplan is director of the secretariat for the Global Investigative Journalism Network, an association of more than 80 nonprofit organizations worldwide dedicated to investigative reporting. During a 30-year career, Kaplan reported from two dozen countries and his stories won or shared more than 20 awards. He is a four-time winner of the coveted Investigative Reporters and Editors Award, including three medals, IRE’s highest honor. His work has also been honored four times by the Overseas Press Club. Kaplan serves on the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Organized Crime. His books include YAKUZA, published in 12 languages and widely considered the standard reference on the Japanese mafia.
